Start with the work you want to do.
Choose events around your role and goals: product, engineering, venture, hardware, climate, health, security or founder operations. Ask whether the gathering welcomes newcomers, requires an RSVP or membership, charges a fee, or restricts entry. An event listing is not a guarantee of admission.
Follow organizers for the current schedule.
Capital Factory publishes pitch days, meetups and summits across Texas and maintains an event calendar. Austin Tech Week publishes its own schedule and notes where separate registration or venue limits apply. These calendars are better sources for current details than an old event roundup.
Turn a visit into a useful introduction.
Pick one or two gatherings that fit your interests, arrive with a short description of what you do, and follow the organizer’s participation norms. For a relocation visit, check the calendar shortly before travel and confirm the venue, cost, accessibility and RSVP status.
A concierge approach to a new network.
Cynthia describes a concierge-level relocation service and a professional rolodex that can support a move. If you are coming from San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle or Los Angeles, tell her early which people, industries or transition questions matter to you. Introductions depend on fit, consent and availability; confirm each request directly with Cynthia.
